“Where did the beach go?!”

Have you ever wondered where the beach went after a big storm? What you’re noticing is coastal erosion – the loss of sediment from waves, currents, and winds!

Build a beach and test the impact of coastal waves, storm surges and rising sea levels. Explore how coastal erosion shapes our coastlines and affects the marine and coastal environment. Find out what we can do to protect our coasts and how the City of Cockburn are using artificial reefs to do just that.

This STEM activity is fun for the whole family – we will be next to the ocean, so be prepared to get sandy and wet, and parents must supervise children at all times.
