Women's STEM JumpStart Program
On Friday 16 February, Perth NRM Staff members Bonnie Jupp, Tibby Tuckett, Dr. Laura Skates, Hannah Gulliver, Vanessa McGuiness, Jennifer Harrison, and Perth NRM Board DIrector Glenice Batchelor attended the Value Creators final Women’s STEM Jumpstart Connect Forum with Alumni and Mentors.
Special Guests included Hon Patrick Gorman MP, keynote speaker Professor Lyn Beazley and RRR Network CEO Kendall Galbraith
Perth NRM Coastal + Marine Program Coordinator, Vanessa McGuiness praised the program, and the event:
“No words can describe the feelings of empowerment…it’s an absolute delight to also hear from Professor Lyn Beazley, who gave us some insight on her career journey, giving us permission to “stumble along!” One part which resonated with me most was, “Positive wishing does not equal positive doing.”
Funded by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Office for Women, the program was valued at over $5000, and was able to be provided at just a small cost of $55 to participants.
The program was delivered in partnership with the Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network of WA, who vision a diverse, strong, connected and influential network of West Australian rural, regional and remote women.
