Perth NRM is excited to announce Kathleen Broderick as our new Coastal and Marine Program Manager (South Region).
Kathleen brings a wealth of practical experience to the role, having worked in the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania as well as more locally in the Collie Catchment. She has over 25 years’ experience in community based NRM work.
Kath recognises there is a lot to learn with the position but is looking forward to the challenge of delivering successful on ground coastal and marine outcomes.
“I have big shoes to fill replacing ‘Coastcare’ Craig Wilson but I am excited by the opportunity to foster stewardship in the region,” explains Kath.
“I am looking forward to being back on my own patch, working with local governments, local businesses, schools and the community, and nurturing relationships close to home.”
Kath will be responsible for the southern corridor of our coastline, from Fremantle to Rockingham.

About the Coastal and Marine Program
The Coastal and Marine Program helps restore and preserve our coastline through a variety of activities including but not limited to seasonal planting days, weed removal, beach clean-ups, dune stabilisation and seed collection.
The program provides training and on-ground activities to help increase community knowledge about how to identify coastal plants and animals, best coast care practices and improving biodiversity. We
work with volunteers, educational institutions, business and industry as well as local and state government agencies to promote awareness and enhance education about coastal preservation.
The program is jointly funded by Perth NRM, the Rockingham, Kwinana, Cockburn, Fremantle, Cottesloe, Cambridge, Stirling, Joondalup and Wanneroo councils, and a number of corporate partners including BP, Kleenheat, Alcoa and BHP Billiton.
