You will be guided through the stunning sights of Whitfords Nodes and our pristine coastline to learn about significant sites and trees in the area.

Location: Hillarys Marina Lake, 40 Northside Dr, Hillarys (behind the TS Marmion Navy Cadets Building)
Parking: Please be aware that there is limited free parking at Whitfords Nodes. Details of parking locations and fees can be found at the City’s Parking webpage.
Session Times: please note the morning and afternoon sessions will cover the same route and content.
- Session 1: 9.30am – 11.30am (Meet on the grassed area at 9.15am)
OR - Session 2: 12.30pm – 2.30pm (Meet on the grassed area at 12.15pm)
What to Bring
Please wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking and bring your hat, water bottle and sunscreen. Also feel free to bring your camera and binoculars along.
Morning Tea will be provided. Please advise dietary requirements at checkout.

This experience is packed with opportunities to connect and immerse yourself in Noongar culture. You will get to learn about the land, ocean and waterways, plants and animals of Whitfords Nodes from your knowledgeable Noongar guide, Olman Walley.
Included is a walking tour, which will be a gentle stroll around a section of Whitfords Nodes Park with plenty of stops along the way to share history, music, stories and information about Noongar culture and language, local flora and fauna, tools and artefacts.
The tour then follows an up-hill path requiring a moderate level of fitness, along with a stroll along the beach.
This experience forms part of the WA Tree Festival and will allow you to learn about some of our incredible local trees and their Noongar names, cultural significance and/or uses. There will also be the opportunity to look out for local and unique fauna species throughout the walk, such as the Ngoolarks (Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo) that rely on the Tuart trees in this area, Quenda and Booyi (Southwestern Snake-necked turtles).
This event is provided to you by the City of Joondalup, Friends of Hillarys and Kallaroo Foreshore and Perth NRM who will all be in attendance to learn and share kaartdijin (knowledge) on how we can work together to protect Boodjah and our beautiful coast and natural areas.

A program will only be cancelled if there are insufficient enrolments received one day prior to the event or due to factors beyond our control. No individual refunds or credits will be given for general non-attendance.
