On this community walk, learn about the culture and language of the Noongar people. We will be in the season of Djeran in the Perth Region. The six seasons played an integral role in the yearly cycle of travel and resource collection for Noongar people.
The event will include a Welcome to Country and incorporate information and moments for sharing as we walk along the river and learn from Uncle Neville Collard about the the importance of KEP (water) and the area’s flora and fauna.

The walk will take approximately 2.5 hrs and include stops along the way from Burswood Park, to Heirisson Island, past Trinity College to Matagarup Bridge and back to our starting point. Walkers will need to bring along a water bottle, a hat and wear suitable shoes for walking. Please note that these events are fluid and each walk is slightly different – depending on the weather, the flora and fauna that we may see and the questions that are asked. Please join us for a simple morning tea afterwards
