ReWild Perth Newsletter (April 2024)

5th April, 2024

What's next for your ReWild garden?

As the nights and mornings get cooler, and the stunning red flowers of the Red Flowering Gum start blooming, also known as Boorn or Yorgam (Corymbia ficifolia), it’s time to embrace the Noongar season of Djeran. This is the season to turn our thoughts to garden plans, preparing and having fun picking out what to plant during the rainy days of Makuru.

In April, we have the WA Tree Festival happening from 6th April to 5th May. It’s a great opportunity to connect with nature, especially trees, in our city! Join guided walks, talks, art sessions, and school holiday activities all around Perth. Also, keep an eye out for local councils offering ‘native plants to residents’ programs – check out what your local council and community has in store in the jam-packed program!

Keep reading for this season’s featured plants and animals, and upcoming events including native plant sales!
