Understanding best practice management of Acid Sulfate Soils (ASS) is essential to ensure new development on affected areas in the Swan Region meet environmental and building standards.

This seminar will present information on the assessment of Acid Sulfate Soils , and their practical management, including dewatering treatments and site contamination.

James Gibson, Principal Environmental Scientist, at Western Environmental will provide a technical overview of ASS, the impacts and risks associated with their disturbance, and integration with planning principles and regulations.

Local government staff, including planners and environmental health officers, and organisations involved with development or construction are encouraged to attend to understand your responsibilities and methods to minimise risk associated with ASS.
