Be involved

Here at Perth NRM, our focus is on participation and collaboration. Our goals are simply too important and too big for any one organisation to achieve on its own. We are trying to make our region better for people, for our wildlife and for our amazing ecological systems. Join us. Be involved.

There are many reasons that the Perth Swan region is a special place, some of which are harder to recognise if you’ve grown up here.

For example, did you know that Perth is a biodiversity hot spot within an internationally significant biodiversity region?

International visitors and new citizens are deeply impressed with the natural qualities of our region, particularly in comparison to comparable Western-styled cities around the world.

For far too long, we have taken issues regarding air quality and water quality for granted, but the increasing population and urban development is now taking a visible toll on our natural resources.

If you live here, you are already involved – the challenge is to make that involvement a positive one. This is a central aspect to Perth NRM’s mission and Vision.

This is a job for all of us.

So whether you’re an individual, small business, corporation, industry body or government agency, we invite you to work with us.

There are all sorts of levels of engagement, from joining your local community groups, to corporate volunteering for on-ground experience of the challenges we’re facing, right through to developing or partnering with one of our programs to deliver specific projects.

We are also committed to engaging with Traditional Owners to incorporate Cultural Heritage and Science into our programs, and respect the understanding of our land that guided traditional practices for more than 60,000 years.

We are here to help you preserve, protect and enhance the natural resources that make our region so special.
