Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator

Sustainable Agriculture Facilitators (SAFs) form a nationwide Community of Practice, providing regional expertise to the local agricultural sector to access assistance and develop new programs.

The Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator (SAF) role is part of a national network supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program.

This investment builds on the valuable work of the Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator network funded through the previous phase of the NHT.

The SAF acts as a point of contact to:

  • Connect farmers, landholders, community groups and agriculture industries to relevant information and programs on climate-smart, sustainable agriculture practices;
  • Facilitate partnerships and connections; and
  • Support the delivery of sustainable agriculture projects in their region.

Perth NRM SAF supports the Sustainable Agriculture team with event delivery, communications & resource sharing, stakeholder engagement, and project opportunities.

Our aim is to support farmers and the wider agricultural industry to adopting sustainable natural resource management practices that protect biodiversity, conserve natural capital, build resilience and reduce emissions.

Sustainable Agriculture Facilitators are supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program.
