A RegenWA Farmer field walk at Tom Mitchell’s horticultural property to see firsthand the system which is implemented on his farm. A perfect complement to Tom’s webinar.

This event will include what has worked and the challenges Tom and Emma have experienced to get their system to where it is now.

Come along to see how these crops are progressing in this regenerative system, ask questions, have an open discussion with fellow interested farmers.

Tom Mitchell farms 20 Hectares North West of Gingin with his wife, Emma and two daughters. In 2012 they transitioned the business to take a more biological/regenerative approach across their farm. Their enterprise is comprised of a market garden where they grow pumpkins in the summer and mixed cover crops in the winter and a lime and mandarin orchard.

They have introduced cover cropping and green manuring to their market garden operation and have drastically reduced the amount of cultivation and have eliminated the use of all fungicides from their operation and drastically reduced the amount of pesticide use.

This RegenWA Farmer Field Day is designed to improve the knowledge of RegenWA members and Western Australian farmers through peer-to-peer discussion. It is an opportunity to ask questions and see firsthand how regenerative agriculture systems are working on farm.
