A RegenWA Farmer field walk with Stuart McAlpine at his Buntine property to see firsthand the system which he has implemented on his farm. Throughout the year, McAlpine grows a range of crops including perennial pasture crops, multi-species cover crops as well as canola, wheat and lupins.

This event will include what has worked and the challenges Stuart has experienced to get his system to where it is now, where he brings the physical, chemical and biological health of his soils together.

Come along to see how some of these crops are progressing in this regenerative system, ask questions, have an open discussion, and enjoy lunch with fellow farmers.

Stuart McAlpine – Stuart is a fourth-generation farmer who owns and manages a 5,000 ha farm in Buntine, Western Australia. He is a co-founder of the Liebe Group, one of Australia’s premium grower groups, and the Regional Regeneration Alliance, an organisation aimed at community regeneration.

Stuart believes that successful food production will ultimately only be sustainable with an integrated approach that allows for continued improvement in the health of the ecosystem and can be demonstrated in operating farming systems. He is passionate about revitalizing communities across regional WA, with a vision to create meaningful impact was as many people as possible.

This RegenWA Farmer Field Day is designed to improve the knowledge of RegenWA members and Western Australian farmers through peer-to-peer discussion. It is an opportunity to ask questions and see firsthand how regenerative agriculture systems are working on farm.
