Event Location: Vlamingh Parklands, intersection of Curtin Ave and Marine Parade, Cottesloe.
Meet us on the grass on the corner of Marine Parade and Curtin Avenue, you will see us set up with banners and equipment!
Perth NRM, in partnership with the Town of Cottesloe and Cottesloe Coastcare Association, and sponsored by Coastwest, are pleased to host a community planting day at Vlamingh Parklands to celebrate National Tree Day 2019!
National Tree Day is a call to action for all Australians to put their hands in the earth and give back to their community. It’s a day to venture outdoors and get to know your community, and most importantly, to have fun! Planet Ark is asking Australians to help plant one million new native trees and shrubs across the country… join Perth NRM and your community on this perfect weekend family activity to help us do our part and plant 1000 local native species on the coast! Get the the kids out of the house and connected to nature, be a part of Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature protection event, and learn about some of the amazing flora and fauna which call this area home!
A free morning tea will also be provided as a big thank you for lending a hand!
What to bring:
Please wear sturdy enclosed shoes and outdoor clothes. We have asked the rain gods for rain after the event rather than during, however please prepare yourself for wet weather just in case. Parents may also want to bring a spare change of clothes for younger participants who enjoy the fun in the sand!
We will provide drinking water and a morning tea as part of the event. Please let us know prior to the event if you have any dietary requirements, and please BYO water bottle to keep hydrated!
Parking and Public Transport:
There is free parking along Curtin Avenue, and a large carpark on Curtin Avenue, opposite the Montessori Beehive School. only a short walk from here to site.
The site is also 500m walk from the Victoria Street Train Station, with some Bus Stops on Stirling Highway near the station.
Please wear enclosed shoes and outdoor clothing, prepare for wet weather.
