To celebrate the on-going partnership with Perth NRM’s Coastal & Marine Program, the team from proAlliance (SUEZ/WaterCorp) grabbed, bags, buckets and tongs to take part in this year’s annual Clean Up Australia Day.
A team of eleven employees picked up over 75kgs of marine debris found along the beach adjacent to the desalination plant in Kwinana.
Using Tangaroa Blue’s marine debris data collection sheets, the rubbish collected by the team will be entered into the Australian Marine Debris Database. The information collected will be used to prevent marine debris occurring at its source.
Perth NRM Coastal and Marine Program Coordinator Vanessa McGuiness said the environment has improved enormously thanks to the long-term partnership with proAlliance.
Later this year, proAlliance employees will join Perth NRM again to stabilise the dune system through plantings.
