This seminar will introduce you to the process of seed collection, including:
On-ground seed and cuttings collection technique
Collection planning
Standards and regulations around seed collection
Licensing
Seed testing and dormancy
Pre-treatments
Processing seeds and cuttings
Storage requirements and seed banking

Expert Speakers from Tranen and Conservation Volunteers Australia will discuss the intricacies of seed collection, including licensing, on-ground collection techniques, processing, storage, preparation, and much more!

Speaker Biographies

Damian Grose is a founder and the General Manager of Tranen Revegetation Systems. He has worked in the local
revegetation industry for 19 years and – since Tranen was established in its current form in 2002 – has been involved
with over 750 separate revegetation projects, focusing mostly on the greater Perth metro area and the south-west region.

 

Richard McDowell is a Training Coordinator at Conservation Volunteers Australia and operates his own seed collection consultancy.
He has worked with state and local governments, such as Department of Parks and Wildlife and the City of Joondalup.
Richard has extensive experience in the restoration field and enjoys passing on his seed collection knowledge by teaching best practice methods.
