Eighty-one environmental volunteers spent 50,285 hours and an estimated value of $1,508,550, volunteering on on-ground and administrative tasks to look after and improve the natural areas of Perth!

The annual community capacity survey, in its fourth year now, continues to build up a picture of how much time, effort and hard work environmental volunteers put into their volunteer activities in Perth.

To celebrate just that, Perth NRM held a “Champions of Living Landscapes” event on the 7 Feb 2017. The event not only outlined the results of the Community Capacity in NRM survey 2016 but also celebrated the volunteers with Awards in various environmental volunteering categories and we presented the $1000 prize to Friends of Allen Park Bushland to use for their groups activities.

The day was a great success with 30 participants joining us for the celebration. Once again we would like to congratulate the award winners from the Community Capacity Survey 2016.

The annual Community Capacity in NRM survey will run again in October 2017, don’t miss your opportunity to participate … and it may be you or your group that is an award winner next year!!
